Welcome Week is your chance to meet your tutors, university teams and, most importantly, your new classmates. You’ll also have the opportunity to get to know your campus, take part in social activities and start settling into university life.
Induction is your introduction to your course and life as an HSU student. You’ll get important information about your course, meet key members of your teaching and support teams, and find out everything you need to know to get started.
Both Induction and Welcome Week are important parts of starting your HSU journey. You can find provisional timetables below, including details of planned sessions and activities. Your group will be confirmed on arrival.

You will receive an email with instructions on how to complete your initial registration ahead of induction and enrolment. Please follow the instructions in the email and complete your registration as soon as possible.
You will be provided a link to your timetable ahead of teaching. The system we use is Publish, which will include the Unit details and location of sessions. Please head promptly to the room you have been allocated for the Introductory lecture, or first teaching session.
All Chiropractic students should arrive on Monday 7 September between 9:30 – 10:00 for Registration. You will be assigned to a group on arrival. Provisional group timetables are provided below.

We recommend that all students have access to a laptop, tablet, or notebook from the start of the course to help record notes and keep track of important information throughout their degree. You will also need a digital device to access your timetable and check room locations, although many students find that using their mobile phone is perfectly suitable for this on the go.
During your Welcome Week, our IT team will guide you through everything you need to know, including how to connect to the university Wi-Fi and access the online platforms you will be using during your studies (plus we will have our webinar to support you).
The MChiro degree is a hands-on, vocational programme, so we recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and participate easily in practical sessions. As you will spend time learning and practising clinical and manual skills throughout the course, choosing clothes that are both comfortable and appropriate for an active learning environment will help you get the most from your sessions.
You must register your absence to your unit leads so they can add the information onto Presto.

Please note: you are not expected to purchase any new copies of the recommended books. It is possible to locate second-hand copies or borrow them from your local libraries. Pre-reading is not mandatory, so please do not worry if you are not able to access easily access these books.
You will not need a uniform until you begin your clinical training in Year 4. However, if you have the opportunity to observe a chiropractic placement student or attend an external clinic, we recommend wearing professional attire to reflect the clinical environment and make a positive first impression.
As you progress through the course, we will provide plenty of guidance on professional dress and what will be expected when you enter clinic.
