HSU has two large clinics serving our local communities including an established musculoskeletal condition focused clinic seeing around 1000 patients per week, and our Integrated Rehabilitation Centre. This patient base provides a valuable resource for clinical studies and service evaluations combining research, health education and health provision all on one site.

Creating Inclusive Physical Education for Children with Disabilities and enhancing human performance and functioning. This project focused on shifting mindsets, building confidence, and gathering evidence that inclusive PE can work in mainstream and SEND school settings.
At HSU we pride ourselves on our relationships with our NHS partners. We are a founding member of Wessex Health Partners, a regional partnership of Integrated Care Boards, top universities and leading NHS organisations. We are also partner of the Dorset Innovations Hub which works across primary, community secondary and social care, academia, innovation, research, economy, industry and patient and public involvement and engagement. We host the Dorset Brain Health Clinic on our Bournemouth Campus, in collaboration with Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.
We value the opportunity to partner with industry, and have introduced an Innovation Voucher scheme to support industry partners develop their innovations. One such project with MoveMojo focused on developing an evidence-based physical activities scheme compatible with the PE curriculum to improve attention and engagement of children with ADHD.
