About the National Centre for Chiropractic Research (NCCR)
The National Centre for Chiropractic Research (NCCR) has been established to strengthen, coordinate and increase high-quality research into chiropractic care and musculoskeletal (MSK) health in the UK and internationally. The Centre brings together researchers, clinicians, professional bodies and external partners to advance MSK health through rigorous, impactful and collaborative research.
As part of the formal launch of the NCCR, we are inviting Expressions of Interest (EoIs) to join the NCCR National Stakeholders Advisory Group.
About the National Stakeholders Advisory Group
The National Stakeholders Advisory Group (NSAG) provides strategic advice, external challenge and professional insight to ensure that the Centre’s research, activities and priorities are relevant and impactful. Members will act as critical friends to the Centre, helping to ensure that its work remains relevant, inclusive, outward-looking and aligned with the needs of the chiropractic profession, MSK healthcare and wider society.
Roles available
We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest for the following roles on the National Stakeholders Advisory Group:
- International member(s)
Applicants should be based outside of the UK and bring an international perspective on chiropractic, MSK research, healthcare policy, education and/or professional practice. - Influential member(s) of the chiropractic profession and other MSK-aligned professions
Applicants should be recognised as influential within chiropractic and/or closely aligned MSK professions (e.g. physiotherapy, osteopathy, rheumatology, sports medicine, public health or related fields).
Applicants do not need to be chiropractors; a broad range of professional, clinical, academic and policy expertise is welcomed.
Role and responsibilities
Members of the NSAG will be expected to:
- Provide strategic advice and independent perspective on the direction and priorities of the NCCR
- Offer insight into professional, clinical, policy and international contexts relevant to NCCR activity
- Support the Centre’s engagement with external stakeholders, including professional bodies, funders and communities
- Support the dissemination and translation of NCCR research to maximise professional and societal impact.
- Act as ambassadors for high-quality research and evidence-informed practice within their areas of influence
- Contribute to meetings, consultations and occasional ad hoc activity as required

Appointment and commitment
- Appointments will be for a fixed term of 3 years.
- Engagement will be primarily advisory in nature.
- Meetings are expected to take place periodically (details to be confirmed) and will take place online.
- These are voluntary, non‑remunerated positions. Reasonable travel expenses may be met in line with HSU policy, where applicable.

Selection process
Expressions of Interest will be reviewed by members of the NCCR Steering Group to ensure a balanced mix of expertise, perspectives and experience across the NSAG. Selection will take account of:
- Relevance of expertise to the role
- Ability to contribute strategically to the work of the NCCR
- Balance across professional, sectoral and international perspectives
