Clare is a senior lecturer and unit lead supporting the delivery of the MSc the Advanced Clinical Practice Programme

Biography

Clare qualified as a registered nurse in 1996 from Oxford Brookes University and has worked in several roles for the NHS in Oxford and Dorset. Clare currently works as a Senior Advanced Nurse Practitioner in general practice and Workforce Development Lead for her local PCN, alongside her role at HSU. Clare has previously worked as Lecturer Practitioner at Bournemouth university on the MSc Advanced Practice Programme and after a short break in lecturing has now joined HSU to continue her passion for education.

Experience, Areas of interest/expertise

Clare has had several roles including Quality Healthcare Improvement Facilitator with Dorset CCG. Community Pharmacist Consultation Skills Facilitator delivering teaching to community pharmacists through the RCGP. Centre for Advancing Practice Reviewer- which involved reviewing the independent portfolio route through Health Education England. Is currently involved in developing an Advanced Practice Community of Practice with Dorset Training hub and also within her own PCN.
