Maxina Munkombwe

Associate Lecturer in Chiropractic Diagnostic Imaging

Maxina Munkombwe is an Associate Lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging at Health Sciences University (HSU), where she teaches Medical Imaging to Chiropractic students and supports them in bridging theoretical knowledge with clinical practice. She is a diagnostic radiographer and sonographer with extensive clinical and academic experience.

Biography

Originally from Zambia, Maxina has lived, worked, and studied across Zambia, Namibia, and the United Kingdom. Before joining Health Sciences University (HSU), she held clinical roles at Rundu Private Hospital Group in Namibia and Tusekelemo Medical Center in Zambia, where she developed strong expertise in diagnostic radiography, ultrasound, and patient-centered care. Passionate about mentoring early‑career radiographers, Maxina joined HSU to further her commitment to medical imaging education, student development, and the advancement of high‑quality imaging practice.

She holds a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography from Lusaka Apex Medical University (Zambia) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound from Health Sciences Academy (Pakistan). She is currently pursuing an MSc in Medical Imaging with Management at Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom.

Research

My current research focuses on strengthening leadership capacity in breast cancer screening programs to improve efficiency in public hospitals in low and middle-income countries.
