On Tuesday 17 March 2026, HRH The Princess Royal, Chancellor of Health Sciences University (HSU), attended the inauguration of the Health Sciences University Chancellor’s Fund. Hosted at HSU’s London campus, Her Royal Highness toured the site and met staff, students and patients during a showcase highlighting the breadth and impact of HSU’s work in educating the future healthcare workforce, advancing research, and delivering clinical care to people who might otherwise struggle to access support.

The Chancellor’s Fund is a new initiative to accelerate HSU’s mission to advance health and care education and research, while supporting the health and wellbeing of the communities it serves. The visit included the signing of the Legacy Charter by Her Royal Highness, as Chancellor, and Professor Lesley Haig, Vice-Chancellor of Health Sciences University, setting out the following principles:

  • Widen access to education and training for learners who will shape the future health and care workforce
  • Advance pioneering research that improves patient outcomes, enhances clinical practice and responds to emerging challenges in health and care
  • Strengthen community partnerships, ensuring HSU’s work benefits patients, families and the wider public
  • Foster innovation and leadership, enabling the University to respond dynamically to the evolving needs of healthcare systems
