Who we are and what we do
The Students’ Union team are here to help you get the best out of your University experience. As a team, we are responsible for representing and amplifying your voice, and the voices of all students at Health Sciences University.
We work hard to make your time at the University one you’ll never forget. Our role is to serve you, the student. We aim to do this by improving all areas of your University life, ranging from hosting social events to liaising with the faculty, to maintaining the University gym and organising the sports teams and social clubs.
We are here to support you, so do not hesitate to contact us through email, social media or (when we are able to again) pop by our office on the top floor of the main building via the central staircase.
Meet the Students’ Union members
Rhianydd runs the SU team and organises our day to day activities. Rhianydd is the only employed member of the Union so her role is to provide guidance and support. Rhianydd can be found in the SU office and is always available to answer any questions or queries you may have about starting at Health Sciences University and what student life will be like.

We are delighted to announce that Jordan Cummins has been appointed Chair of the Health Sciences University's Board of Governors. Jordan will join the Board following the end of Jeni Bremner's tenure as Chair in March.

For Health Sciences University, training the next generation of highly skilled and compassionate speech and language therapists has never been more pressing, as the UK Government publishes its long-awaited Schools White Paper, Every Child Achieving and Thriving, which outlines “a vision for education for the next decade”.
Health Sciences University (HSU) and the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM) have confirmed that they have begun early exploratory discussions about the possibility of a future merger. HSU and CICM already have an established academic relationship, with HSU currently validating CICM’s degree provision. The discussions now underway are separate from, and additional to, this existing validation arrangement.
Nils Theuninck is a third-year Master of Chiropractic student at Health Sciences University with an impressive background in elite sailing. He has competed internationally as part of the Swiss National Sailing Team and has earned several podium finishes at major events. Most recently, Nils sailed with Alinghi Red Bull Racing in their challenge for the 37th America’s Cup. His dedication to both sport and chiropractic has been recognised with a 2025 International Sports Chiropractic Federation (FICS) Student Scholarship. We spoke to him about his sailing journey, how this influenced his decision to study chiropractic, and his goals for the future.
