Lecturer

Paula is a Lecturer in Being an Osteopath at Levels 4 and 5 (Palpation / Sensorimotor Development Skills)

Biography

Paula Andrade graduated from the University College of Osteopathy, obtaining a Master of Osteopathy degree with distinction. She was awarded the prize for best academic performance both in her 3rd and 4th years, and was also the proud recipient of the prestigious L.M. Naidoo Prize for Practical Osteopathic Skills.

Paula also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dance and is a fully qualified Pilates instructor. She has been teaching clinical Pilates for over 20 years and has a wealth of experience helping a variety of clients through movement – from seasoned athletes to those looking to get more comfortable in their daily activities.

Paula’s osteopathic approach is centred around caring for the whole person, providing evidence-based manual therapy as well as movement and health advice. Her previous career as a professional dancer – including going through injuries herself – continues to inspire and inform her practice and teaching. She firmly believes that sustainable patient-centred care starts with looking after the practitioner first, and so she aims to embody and model the self-care, resilience and reflective practice she hopes to inspire in her student osteopaths.
