Course suitability
Osteopaths, physiotherapists, chiropractors and other allied health professionals interested in running an inclusive practice.

Jerry is the Director of the National Council for Osteopathic Research (NCOR) in the UK, Head of Research and Knowledge Exchange and an Associate Professor at the Health Sciences University School of Osteopathy, a visiting fellow on the International Osteopathic Research Leadership Programme (UTS School of Public Health, Australia) and a clinician in Oxfordshire.

He holds a Professional Doctorate in Osteopathy (2016) focusing on the acceptability and impact of a biopsychosocial e-learning programme for non-specific LBP. Dr Draper-Rodi has presented research at conferences, published articles in peer-reviewed journals, and received awards, including the Research in Practice Award from the Institute of Osteopathy and The Secretaries Award from The Society for Back Pain Research.

Yinka is an Osteopath and Yoga teacher with over 30 years of clinical practice and 22 years of yoga teaching experience. Yinka’s interest in supporting people towards pain free movement inspired Yinka to train as a yoga teacher, completing her British Wheel of Yoga Diploma in 2000.
After 18 years of working as an osteopath in the NHS, Yinka began to work full time at her practice, Holmewood Osteopathic Practice which offers person centred, treatment and management of pain and restriction. As well as running a practice Yinka is also a senior practice educator and lecturer at the University College of Osteopathy (formerly The British School of Osteopathy). Yinka has developed and delivered a number of courses and workshops including day postgraduate courses at the University College of Osteopathy aimed at teaching osteopaths and MSK allied healthcare professionals how to use elements of yoga to manage low back and shoulder pain. Since the Covid-19 pandemic Yinka has been helping to develop a Wellness Clinic for the University as well as continuing to write and deliver training courses for osteopaths and yoga teachers. Yinka is outgoing Chair of the black community group at The UCO and is working with Jerry Draper-Rodi and colleagues on the UrGEnT project, a mixed methods study on the experience of students from underrepresented groups in osteopathic training and all UK osteopathy students’ cultural humility.
