Biography
Valéria Alves Ferreira (DO MSc Ost PGCAP) is a Brazilian-born osteopath (DO, MSc Ost, PGCAP), a committed educator and practitioner registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). She moved to London in 1989, qualified from the College of Osteopaths (COET) in 2000 and completed her MSc in Osteopathy at the European School of Osteopathy (ESO) in 2006, where she researched osteopathic treatment for endometriosis.
In 2007, Valéria joined the UCO School of Osteopathy, then known as the British School of Osteopathy (BSO), where she continues to teach. Previously, for over eight years, she taught practical skills to final-year students and subsequently led the visceral elective between 2010 and 2022.
Valéria is currently pursuing a PhD at Brunel University London.

Research interests 
Since 2022, Valéria have been delivering Sensorimotor Skills Development (SMSD) sessions to both full-time and part-time 1st and 2nd-year students.
Valéria’s professional engagements are diverse and enriching. In addition to her academic role, she runs CPD courses in the UK, Europe, Dubai and Brazil, integrating various osteopathic approaches. She also maintains a private practice in London (City, Belgravia and Lewisham) and is currently pursuing a PhD at Brunel University London.
