Biography
Simon was born in Poole and has lived and studied in various parts of the world, including two years in the United States. He began his academic journey at Bournemouth University, earning a BSc in Sports Science, followed by an MSc in Sports and Injury Rehabilitation at Twickenham and an MSc in Physiotherapy at the University of Southampton.
To deepen his clinical expertise, Simon has completed a number of advanced practice MSc modules, including Independent Prescribing, Advanced History Taking and Assessment, and Injection Therapy.
He joined Health Sciences University (HSU) drawn by its innovative approach to healthcare education and its ambition to become a world-class institution. The university’s focus on collaborative working and forward-thinking practices aligns closely with his professional values and aspirations.
Experience, Areas of interest/expertise
Simon has extensive experience working across the NHS in both Hampshire and Dorset, where he has held a variety of clinical and leadership roles, including Department Lead, First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) Lead in primary care, and Advanced Practice Orthopaedic Specialist. His clinical expertise centres on the assessment and management of peripheral musculoskeletal conditions and spinal pathologies. Alongside his NHS work, he also practices privately in physiotherapy and sports settings, supporting a diverse range of clients in achieving their rehabilitation and performance goals. He is passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and driving innovation in musculoskeletal and primary care services.
