Haris Vongli

Associate Lecturer

In her role as Associate Lecturer teaching units such as ‘Health Policy: Politics and Power‘ and ‘Applied Research Methods’, Haris is responsible for contributing to teaching and learning activities within the Health Business School team. Haris is dedicated to fostering debate and developing the ability of students to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking, and engaging them to participate in individual and/or group learning activities. As part of her duties, Haris is responsible for providing advice and support to students on completing assignments’ tasks, recording engagement and progression as required, followed by marking and giving feedback on students’ group and individual work. Haris works in partnership with other team members to support students’ academic, personal, and professional development throughout the Unit.

Biography

Haris Vongli is currently a PhD researcher at Glasgow Caledonian University, London, where she also taught for three years (2022-2025) on modules such as ‘Managing Change’ (IBM), ‘Research Methods’, ‘International Management Governance and Sustainability’, as well as ‘Ethics, Governance and Responsible Leadership’, etc. Before this, Haris served as Advisor to the President of the Republic of Albania (2019-2020). In 2020, she graduated from Harvard Kennedy School with a degree in “Leadership and Character in Uncertain Times”. Back in 2010, Haris graduated with a BA ‘Law and Politics’ at Queen Mary University, London. She worked for the Albanian Institute of International Relations, when also began her political career in 2011, serving as an advisor for Local and Central Elections Campaigns (2011-2015).

During this time, she studied MSc in “Politics and Governance in the EU” at the ISE, University of Tirana, and worked for the Municipality of Tirana, initially in the PR Directorate and later in the Foreign Investment Promotion Directorate. Later, she moved to China, where graduated in 2017, holding a Master’s degree in ‘Public Administration, International Development and Governance’ from Tsinghua University, Beijing. Following this, she worked for ‘China Media Group’. In 2019, she returned to Albania, where studied “The integration of Albania into the European Family”, as a Jean Monnet Erasmus+ Module at UT. From 2018-2021, she was a lecturer of Political Science at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Social Sciences. She was also an Associate Lecturer of Communication at the Faculty of Economics. Between 2020 and 2021, Haris was a fellow at the School of Political Studies ASP in Albania. Haris has been trained in various countries, such as Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Kosovo, and China. Over the past fourteen years, Haris has been engaged in the mass media by giving social and political opinions and analysis on various magazines, newspapers and TV debates in Albania. She is also a civil society activist in defence of human rights, freedom of speech, democracy and good governance.
